What Is High TG PCB

TG refers to the Glass Transition Temperature, which signifies the temperature at which the substrate changes from a rigid and glassy state to a rubbery state. The standard PCB FR4-Tg has a range of 130-140℃, while the mid-range Tg is higher than 150-160 ℃, and the high Tg is higher than 170 ℃. As a rule, materials with higher Tg values tend to have improved resistance to heat and moisture. High Tg boards are specifically engineered to function in high-temperature environments.

High TG PCBs exhibit exceptional resistance to high temperatures and maintain their performance even under extreme thermal stress. They do not warp or deform due to heat and remain structurally sound.

High TG PCBs are highly resilient and can withstand high pressure and stress. They are inherently hard and strong, and their durability increases with the number of layers.

Ordinary PCBs cannot accommodate high power density because the components generate a lot of heat. However, high TG PCBs can tolerate high-temperature conditions, enabling them to dissipate heat more effectively. This means that more components can be placed on the board without the risk of overheating.
