How do you reduce the PCB assembly cost?

We are a automotive equipment company and also do PCBA by ourselves. But the production cost is moderately high based on the finance audit report. How can we do to save the cost?
  • For starters, simplify the PCB design.
  • Reduce material costofcomponent and board.
  • Outsource the work. This savescapital cost of machinery for assemblyand site fee.
  • Reduce overheads. If you outsource work, you may not need so much office space and other.

How do you usually organize SMT parts during PCB assembly?

Suppose one is hand-assembling a board with many SMT components. Unlike THT, SMT components are often not labeled. How might one keep small (<100) quantities of such parts properly organized during assembly? Are there particular tools? Storage devices? Methods?

Is double-sided mounting still possible with the latest packages?

When I think of packages like some DFN or 0201 resistors I wonder where they would place glue dots. My UDFN is 1.2mm x 1mm. And glue dots on 0.5mm pitch WLP seem completely out. Is it still possible to fix parts at the bottom of a PCB for soldering?

How to handle feedline of bluetooth PCB connected to a 2.4GHz chip antenna?

I’m making a 4 layer PCB prototype that uses a bluetooth mcu connected to a 2.4GHz chip antenna. I’m thinking about what to do with the feedline, whether it should be buried on one of the middle layers, or left on the top layer. To get a 50 ohm line, should I choose top layer with 13-mil width or buried miccrostrip with 7-mild width?
